Question #3:
...patagonian hares or maras
I'd take any solid resource at this point. I've only found a couple vague websites mostly devoted to pics or whatever. I've also found a Yahoo group which is not exceptionally helpful other than to locate available animals. What I can't find is a book, group or website devoted to the care and husbandry of these animals.

Question #7:
Back ground.
He is 2 years old, his previous owner passed away and he was inherited to the mans brother who kept him in a basement for 6 months in a small cage, seed only diet, NO toys, and no human interaction.
I've had him for 3 months now and about a month ago he finally stared warming up to me, now he will step up, he still doesn't like to be petted, once in awhile he will cuddle with my face but I dont allow it much it only takes a second for his moods to change and the cuddling to turn to blood.
He seems to have some neurotic behavior he will sway back and forth and scream hello with his eyes pinning when he gets to excited( someone leaves the room, enters the room, looks away, talks, just about anything or nothing that i can see) He is my boyfriend's bird but I know a little more about handling birds and he's bonding to me and attacking everyone else.
He is on a pelleted diet with fresh fruits and veggies daily, plenty of toys and in a large cage, the room has my other 2 birds in it.(patagonian and green cheek conure).
The problem
He has screaming fits that seems like constantly through out the day, sometimes I'll notice what causes it but other times it just seems to start and will go on for like 20 min,and it is causing my others to pick up screaming habbits.
I have tried...
1. Covering his cage every time he screams which worked in 2 days with my green cheek
2. Ignore him when he starts. Not looking at him, leaving the room
3. Praising him when he makes quieter noises.
4. Taking him with me when I leave the room.
the only thing that seems to work temporarily is looking directly at him. I am not sure what else to do. I have had birds for 5 years, I've done research and Ive trained my birds so I'm not someone who has no idea what they are doing Ive just come to a stand still with this one, I understand he has plenty of behavioral problems from his past and I am going to work him through them. Any tips on anything that has worked on other birds?

GREENLAND See Greenland Icecap Growing Thicker
Greenland glacier advancing 7.2 miles per year! The BBC recently ran
a documentary, The Big Chill, saying that we could be on the verge of an ice
age. Britain could be heading towards an Alaskan-type climate within a decade,
say scientists, because the Gulf Stream is being gradually cut off. The Gulf
Stream keeps temperatures unusually high for such a northerly latitude.
One of Greenland’s largest glaciers has already doubled its rate of advance,
moving forward at the rate of 12 kilometers (7.2 miles) per year. To see a

NEW ZEALAND
All 48 glaciers in the Southern Alps have grown during the past year.
The growth is at the head of the glaciers, high in the mountains, where they
gained more ice than they lost. Noticeable growth should be seen at the
foot of the Fox and Franz Josef glaciers within two to three years.(27 May 2003)

I've noticed along the South Patagonian coast of Chile there's a lot of English and Scottish sounding names, why is that? I know Sir Francis Drake past through the area, did he name them? Or was it British settlers to the area (I know there were some British settlers in Chile but I didn't think they were that numerous).
Here are some place names I noticed:
*Isla Benjamin James
*Bahia Darwin (named after Charles Darwin by any chance?)
*Isla Byron
*Isla Wellington (Duke of Wellington?)
*Isla Mornington
*Isla Duque de York (Duke of York?)
*Isla Chatham
*Estretcho Nelson
*Isla Stewart (Scottish?)
*Peninsula Brecknock
*Isla Dawson
*Isla Londonderry
I also noted some O'higgins names but I know about him (the Chilean liberator of Irish decent).

Question #19:
I want to get a Patagonian Cavy but WHAT DO I KEEP IT IN? thank you... details please
Question #20:
I really want a Patagonian Cavy (Mara) and there are some for sale in my state. I need to know, what would I keep it in? How much food does it need every day? What is its bedding like (pine shavings, hay)? Are they friendly to humans and do they bite? Do you have to take them to the vet? Thank you so much for your help...
Oh, and do they carry diseases? (Or are they just domesticated... like a rabbit or a dog that do not carry diseases?)
No, I would buy it from a breeder... (I think she is a breeder) But she is selling 3 right now in my state. And I don't think I would have to take it to the vet... you don't have to take rabbits, chinchillas, or guniea pigs to the vet...
