    Question #1:

Can't decide what bird to get, please help me?

I currently have two cute little budgies and they don't like to interact with me unless I have food, they are cute to watch but a little boring. I really want to get a third bird, but I can't decide what would be good to get. I currently live in my parents house, but I would like to eventually move into an apartment and therefore I need a somewhat quiet bird. I would also like to get something with a bit more intelligence ,personality (sorry budgies!), costs less than $300USD and isn't too big. I can't decide on either a sun or green cheek conure, a parrotlet, cockatiel or lineolated parakeet.
    elly,
I do interact with them, but not as much as I would like to be able to. I got them at Petsmart a couple of years ago, I bought one at first but he just seemed so lonely and wouldn't leave his perch so I got him a little friend. They have bonded to each other and therefore they don't need me as a companion. If I do get another bird I would definitely get one that's hand-raised and not from a box store like petsmart.
Which is quieter, a green cheek conure or a cockatiel? I really can't decide between the two
Can someone please give more info on conures?

    Question #2:

    Lineolated Parakeet, Lovebird, or Cockatiel?

Which one makes the best "friend" type of bird?
Which one likes to spend time with you and sit on your shoulder and stuff
Which one is the most aggressive?
    Which is the most calm?
And which one do you prefer and why? :D
    TY
I've owned a Lovebird and Cockatiel before!
    My Cockatiel was vicious D:
    And my Lovebird was awesome
I've never even seen a Lineolated Parakeet :[
But i know of a breeder xD

    Question #3:

What Species of Bird Would Suit Me? (First Bird)?

I just turned 13 last month, and I think I am ready for a bird. My mom has previous experience with birds, as she had budgies and a conure. I don't really want a budgie, but I don't want a huge bird either. I was thinking lineolated parakeets, but I'm not sure. If anyone has experience please post your personal experience. I want a bird that is fairly cuddly, but not too loud.
I have plenty of time, I'm home most days except for school and if I'm hanging out at my friends house I'm home by 5:30pm
Brett, I've done some research already, and budgies (parakeets) and linnies aren't the same thing. Also, they are only slightly bigger than a budgie, not huge. Also, i can barely understand your post. Next time, please be a little more clear for the askers sake

    Question #4:

How long do Lineolated Parakeets live?

I was just wondering the average life span of them
Or how long yours lived :3
all the sites are saying different ages =/

    Question #5:

How long to Lineolated Parakeets(Linnies) Live?

Every site says different things X_x
Please dont give me an answer from a website =/

    Question #6:

    petco or petsmart please help?

ok well im finally getting my lineolated parakeet tomorrow and I still need to get a few things like food toys and a couple of perches. my question is what would be better to get them from petco or petsmart. like what has a better selection, variety and price. Thank you

    Question #7:

please help with any lineolated parakeet information?

ok well im hoping to get my lineolated parakeet tomorrow and I still need to get some food and toys for my new bird. I already got the cage but I have a little concern the bar spacing is a little over a half an inch is that ok. I know I need to get fresh fruits and vegetables but what type of food other than that do i need. Also any suggestions on toys and things to get to put into the birds cage. if you cant tell im a first time bird owner so any information is greatly appreciated. thanks

    Question #8:

    please help with any information?

ok well I decided on getting a lineolated parakeet and I am very exited. What I am asking is does any one know any information or any books that give allot of info on this bird. I want to know every thing like there behavior, what they eat, how to train them, types of toys to buy any thing that would be good information for me to know. I am a first time bird owner so im not very familiar with birds so any incite would be nice. Thank you very much
also I forgot to ask I already got a gage that is pritty big and the bar spacing is a little over half an inch. Is that ok

    Question #9:

Oh gosh, hard dilemma, what to do?

So, a few days ago, I went on a Lineolated Parakeets forum to ask a question. I was looking for a breeder in my state. Somebody gave me a list of three. The first e-mail I had already tried multiple times, but it didn't work. The second e-mail link did work, and the bird breeder replied in a few hours or so.
Apparently, the bird breeder in the first e-mail had seen my question and e-mailed me.
So...now I have two breeders here.
    Ack!
I have no idea what to do or what to say. I know the bird breeder that e-mailed me first has a bird available, weaned in about 3 weeks, blue. She can ship to Portland or Idaho somehwere, and she goes to Portland,OR every month.
The other breeder, I'm not sure if she has any birds available. She no longer lives in Portland, but she goes there every six weeks.
    Help!
What do I say? What do I do? Do I tell one breeder I've already contacted one breeder? Do I start asking questions to the breeders(to one, maybe do you have any birds available soon, etc. To the other, maybe what foods you feed, etc).
Please help me, I have no clue what to do! This is only my second time with bid breeders(the one I got Calvin from, we got him off the parking lot in some place!).
    All help is appreciated.
    Thanks!
'Tis a Lineolated Parakeet, they are
    different from the normal parakeet.

These birds are actually not common, so the price makes a lot of sense, actually.

The store Linnie I saw once was $500 and I think more. The bird had a bald patch, shied away from me, and just stood in one place the enitre time when not avioding me. It looked sick and unhealthy.

The bird's mutation wasn't interesting, either, it was a simply blue or green.

    Question #10:

How can putting two bird species together create harm?

My mom is not the biggest bird person in the world.
I want to get a Lineolated Parakeet(Linnie) for my birthday. My mom thinks we should put the Linnie in the same cage as my current bird, Calvin.
Erm, not the best idea. They might tear each other apart.
My mom thinks there is this possibility of them being friends. There may be a slim chance, but there are other factors with this. Calvin's cage is only a good size for one cockatiel sized bird. He is a cockatiel. My mom does not understand how big their cages need to be and thinks his cage right now is too big(it's actually the borderline kind of).
So I need to know all the possible ways it can create harm, and how expensive it is to repair it vet wise. Stories would be best. What are the chances that the birds will not like each other? Calvin has been in his cage for a year now, might be a bit iffy on sharing.
All answers except for stupid ones and ones advertising your own questions are welcomed.
    Thanks!

    Question #11:

    lineolated parakeets or indian ringnecks?

would like any of theses birds, what is better natured? how much exspensive are they? if you have these birds please tell me what you think, are they fun, cuddly, loud? ( i think parrots should be loud not quite) can talk?

    Question #12:

where can i buy a pet bird?

i am looking for either a parrotlet or a lineolated parakeet but i cant find anywhere that sells them, i live in tyne and wear (newcastle) in england.
i was wondering if anyone knows anny pet shops, breeders or just people that sell these birds

    Question #13:

what are better pets?- parrotlets or lineolated parakeets?

i was wondering which one of these two would be a better pet, and also which is best at talking too.
i am looking to only keep one, i already have a cockatiel but i would keep a new bird in a different cage

    Question #14:

    which is a better pet?

i was wondering which of the following is the best pet:
    a lineolated parakeet
    a parrotlet
    or a kakariki
also i was wondering which is the best at talking too

    Question #15:

where can i buy one of these birds?

i was wondering if anybody knows any pet shops, breeders or just someone selling a bird in the tyne and wear area (UK) that sell lineolated parakeets and/or parrotlets
i've already tried most of these types of websites (freeads.com/birdtrader ect) and there seems to be nothing in my area

    Question #16:

good cockatiel or lineolated parakeet breeders?

    does anyone know of any?

    Question #17:

are lineolated parakeets as cuddly as cockatiels?

    Question #18:

    Question #19:

I have Budgies and would like to add a species to my aviary. What species would work well?

I am considering Bourkes and Lineolated parakeets. They seem to be similar species and about the same size. Does anyone know how well they would get along?

    Question #20:

Which is quieter, Bourkes/Lineolated or English parakeet?

I'd like to get a couple of pet birds to interact with and have hang out on my shoulder but I don't want a bird that can't entertain itself or one that's too noisy while I watch a movie. I've seen some of the answers here that regular budgies can be quiet noisy and I've read Bourke's would enjoy my company but aren't too needy. I've also read that Linnie's make great pets too..Any advise is appreciated. I know that looking for a quiet & interactive bird that I'd want 2 of is like asking for snow in a desert but I'd like to get close......
