Question #1:
I was curious?
Question #2:
I and my fiance have gone from budgies, to canaries, to cockatiels, to lovebirds (lovebirds and tiels still with us) but we'd love another bird. Something a bit harder I guess? We love parrots but any screechy ones are out of the question. I love Sun conures but he wants something bigger. he wants an umbrella cockatoo, but I'm not keen on the lifespan. We want a brightly coloured bird and one that can be tamed fairly easily or bought tame. No African Greys please - we don't like the look of them..

Question #6:
My U2 just flew into our sliding glass door! It was a pretty big bang, but he doesn't appear to be hurt. Could he have internal injuries or a broken bone or something? What are signs that this has happened?
Question #7:
im interested in both of these fish. more specifically i saw the double full red cockatoo cichlid on liveaquaria that is the nicest looking fish i have ever seen. they want $70 for a pair or them. also killifish seem interesting as well. i have 30 gallon fully cycled been running for 9+ months w/ 4 african cichlids. they are severely attacking each other. i do not know how to sex them and i want to get rid of them to avoid further problems. are these fish difficult to keep?
thanks
Question #8:
I just purchased a umbrella cockatoo last night, and he is an absolute lovebug!
I did notice though, that every once in awhile, he would make gasping sound, like just a quick breath in. It only happens once, and it is very infrequent.
Any advice?
Also, his beak isn't perfectly shaped, it seems the bottom mandible is on one side more than the other, it isn't obvious, but noticeable. Is this a problem? He does fine eating/drinking/chewing.
His toe is also crooked on the first knuckle.
Question #9:
I feed her pellets now but i want to know how to get her to eat different foods please help
Question #10:
Planing on getting one but there's some doubts. I own two parrots, an African Grey n Rose breasted cockatoo and have enough experience to handle any kind of bird....11 year experience. However, I live in a two family house, the basement and first floor being mine, so im worried about the noise. Yes the rose breasted screams but its not bad at all....even when the grey joins him, I could handle them. But im not sure about the umbrella cockatoo. I REALLY NEED ADVISE FROM UMBRELLA OWNERS as I hope to add one more to the family. Dont worry about taking care of or attention as he'll be loved like the rest. Its just the noise im worried about due to my tenants or neighbors. Also, has yours ever attacked you and bad can it get
THANK YOU
Question #11:
What ph do these fish require
any information helpful
Question #12:
I have a female goffin alone in a cage is it okay to put another goffin with her. she is a habitual feather plucker would another bird help this; i am not there all day to give her attention. how would i get the birds used to each other.
Question #13:
I've seen cages for sale with 1/2" (or 1.5mm for the rest of the world) bar spacing for "smaller" cockatoos - which is what Elvis is, a medium sulphur crested.
Thanks
its a newer - but MUCH bigger cage, the bars are only 0.5cm smaller gap.
(just realized I put MM above - sorry! his old cage has 2cm bar spacing, the new one is 1.5cm but a good two foot wider over all, so much much larger cage for him)
Bar size is the same as the old cage - I at least remembered to check that before buying lol just forgot to check spacing other than it was escape and "head stuck" proof!
Question #14:
My grandma wants a bird. She already has two dogs. The only birds she has ever had was a budgie/parakeet and two doves. She wants a good talker and a cute personality and not a very loud bird like a cockatoo. She is not a bird expert either. Do not want canaries or budgies. How do you get them to not be mean when they get there hormones.
Any place we could get cheap bird cages to?
Question #15:
she lives in a large cage and i feed her zupreem pellets
Question #16:
I recently purchased a large freshwater aquarium at a thrift store and I'd like to get started raising some fish for display in my living room. I replaced the boiler on the tank and I'm looking for some good hot water fish to fill it with.
I've already lost a very expensive Double Full Red Cockatoo Chichlid because I didn't realize that it was a cold water fish, so I'd like to be sure about the next one before I buy it. Water temp is about 97-98°F.
Thanks in advance.
Question #17:
Ok first we do have experience with parrots we owned a M2 (cockatoo) for some time and now that were settled where we are we were thinking about getting another bird. But I personaly can't handle that high pitch scream again. What kind of bird can live in a family envirorment talk somewhat but can't scream to the point that it can't be ignored. (don't suggest parakeets or cockatiels plz were not looking for something like that).
Question #18:
Question #19:
I have two females. Ones a Umbella cockatoo and the other is a Citron cockatoo. The umbrella is 8 years old and the citron is 1. They are both very friendly and cuddly birds and i've had them both in my arms at the same time before. They tend to talk to each other and the citron chatters her beak, but they always keep an eye on each other. Is this a sign of aggression?
Question #20:
I am restocking my 220 gallon aquarium, and I want ideas. I already know I want to have:
12 silver hatchets
12 cardinal tetras
12 of one of the "blue" tetras (like kerri or "king blue")
2 pairs of cockatoo cichlids
12 of one of the corydoras species (probably just bronze)
possibly one dwarf suckermouth catfish (one of the L-numbers, not interested in larger ones)
they need to be fairly resilient fish, and I'd like to try and stick with the South American theme. The tank is already aquascaped with driftwood and fake plants. Water conditions are optimal (in terms of pH and temperature, I'll need to re-cycle the tank before I actually get to add any new animals.)
Please no dumb answers like, "Get piranhas!" or, "Get a shark!"
Though the tank could probably hold both, I've had experience with both and am interested in neither.
